A program of the LGBT National Help Center
About us

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) National Help Center, founded in 1996, is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization that provides vital peer support, community connections, and resource information. Our services to people with questions regarding sexual orientation and/or gender identity and expression. We are the oldest and most comprehensive national organization of its type and scope in the United States, providing critically needed services regardless of age or geographic location.
We help youth and adults with coming-out issues, safer-sex information, school bullying, family concerns, relationship problems, and a lot more. The people who turn to us for help often live in rural and conservative parts of the country and are frequently feeling severely isolated, closeted and despairing, with literally no one else safe to talk to.
Providing support includes the ability to provide additional resources beyond ourselves to the community, which is why we have created the largest LGBTQIA+ resource database in the country that is free and accessible 24/7. Organizations, businesses, and programs that are run by and for the LGBTQIA+ community are gathered here as a way for individuals to find more ways to connect with the community around them.
LGBT Near Me, our national database is constantly being updated to ensure that the information we provide is as current as possible. Besides updating existing resources we also continue to seek out new connections and add them to our ever growing database.
